SAM YO
Shannon’s guest for this week’s episode is Sam Yo! Sam Yo, is a Peloton instructor, speaker, ex-monk, and actor who has been featured on BroadwayWorld, People, Stylist, Today, and Gizmodo to name a few. Sam has graced London's West End stages after honing his craft at LABAN. His career blossomed from roles in "Thoroughly Modern Millie" to "The King & I" in which he recently returned and made history as the first Thai actor to portray the King. Transitioning from theatre to TV and film, he has shared screens with icons like Tom Hiddleston in "Victoria Cross" and collaborated on the Wachowskis' vision for "Ninja Assassin."
His journey then led him back to his Thai-Chinese roots, becoming an ordained Monk in Thailand. The monastery instilled simplicity and fostered empathy and personal wealth beyond materialism for Sam. When returning to London, his path of finding the mind-body connection next led him to become a Peloton instructor. Sam will be publishing his debut book in 2025 chronicling his journey in discovering the mind-body connection. Sign up for the peloton app where you can join his lunar new year dragon workout and a Bruce Lee inspired workout he did last year! But for now, please listen in to this inspiring conversation with this wonderful human being known as Sam Yo!
